Back to it, in Godot

In September 2026 I picked IdLings up again, this time with AI agents as my development team. The first question was whether to finish it in Unity or rebuild it in Godot. Nine handover documents weighed it up and recommended Godot 4.7, with one condition: a test of the iPhone essentials first (a build on the phone, in-app purchases, notifications), and back to Unity if that test failed.

My brief set the goal, and kept the idea that makes IdLings different from most idle games: it ends.

My part
The brief, the goal (Godot, then the App Store) and the idea that the game ends.
The agents' part
Nine handover documents weighing Unity against Godot, and the plan for testing the iPhone essentials first.

What I said at the time

Your goal is to complete this game in Godot … and launch it for iOS on the iOS App Store

unlike other idle games which are endless, i figured this one could eventually end once all the fairies were freed and Mr Moody was defeated.
